Every residence visa in Dubai passes through a medical fitness test, and the question that follows is always the same one: which centre, and is it the nearest one. Dubai Health runs the network and publishes every centre in it. This page is that list, read from Dubai Health on 8 and 9 August 2026, grouped by the areas people actually search for.
What the test is, and who has to take it
Dubai Health describes the network in one sentence, and it is worth reading closely because it covers three different things: the centres provide medical fitness exams, occupational health screenings, and Unified Health Screenings for both residents and newcomers to the UAE. The first of those is the one attached to a residence visa. The others are separate services that happen to be delivered at the same counters, which is why a centre can look busy with people who are not doing what you are doing.
The test sits inside the residency process rather than beside it, so it is booked and paid for as part of that process. Dubai Health does publish what it costs, in a one page PDF linked from its own Medical Fitness Exam service page under the words “view the Medical Fitness Examination pricing”. It is reproduced in full below. Nothing here comes from a blog.
The 25 centres Dubai Health publishes
Two things about the naming save confusion at the door. Salem is the service brand: a centre called Salem, Al Karama is the Al Karama medical fitness centre, not a separate company. Smart Salem is the expedited version, and Dubai Health is explicit that those are the ones quoting 30 minute results. Several centres sit inside somewhere else entirely, a free zone, an airline building or an airport, and those serve the staff of the place they sit in rather than the general public.
The areas below are the ones people look up by name. Everything else is in one table underneath them. Addresses are reproduced as Dubai Health publishes them.
One number covers the whole network: 800 60. Every one of the 25 facility pages publishes it and not one publishes a direct line, so it reaches Dubai Health rather than the branch you are looking at. There is no point asking it which queue is shorter in Karama. It is the number for booking, for results and for anything the centre’s own page does not answer.
The hours in the table are the medical fitness exam hours. Occupational health screening runs to a different timetable at the same address, and Dubai Health publishes the two separately. Al Karama is open 07:00 to 22:00 every day for the visa exam, while its occupational health desk runs 07:00 to 20:00 Monday to Saturday and is closed on Sunday. If you are going for an Occupational Health Card rather than a residence visa, read the second set of times on the centre’s own page before you travel.

Sonapur
Worth stating plainly because the search volume is real and the answer is not obvious: Dubai Health does not publish any centre called Sonapur. The two centres it lists nearest to that search are the pair in Al Muhaisnah above. If you were sent to “the Sonapur medical”, those are the counters on the official list; ask whoever sent you for the exact branch rather than assuming.

How fast the result comes back
Dubai Health publishes two figures and no others. The Premium Medical Fitness Exam returns results within 6 to 24 hours. Smart Salem centres offer a VIP service with results in 30 minutes. Both are quoted from the network page on 8 August 2026. Anything else you read about turnaround, including the ordinary non-premium wait, is not published by Dubai Health and is not repeated here.
What it costs, from Dubai Health’s own price list
The figures below are the whole of Medical Fitness Packages, the one page PDF Dubai Health links from its Medical Fitness Exam service page. The copy read here was last modified on 16 February 2026. What you pay depends on how fast you want the certificate, not on which centre you walk into.
| Service | Price |
|---|---|
| Medical Fitness Examination Service, 24 working hours | AED 270 |
| Medical Fitness Examination Service for Domestic Workers, 24 working hours | AED 320 |
| Premium Medical Fitness Examination Service, 6 working hours | AED 700 |
| Premium Medical Fitness Examination Service for Domestic Workers, 6 working hours | AED 750 |
| Medical Fitness Examination Service for VIPs, 2 working hours | AED 1,020 |
| Medical Fitness Examination Service at Salem Innovative Center, 30 minutes | AED 700 |
Three notes are printed on the price list itself and all three matter. Delivery times are counted in official working hours, so a 24 hour certificate ordered on a Thursday afternoon is not ready on Friday. An extra AED 50 applies to the pregnancy test for domestic workers. And Dubai Health reserves the right to change these prices, so treat the figure the counter shows you as the one that binds. The list is published at Dubai Health.
One thing the price list does not settle is what the test contains. Dubai Health’s service page describes the visit as blood collection, a chest X-ray, and vaccinations only for certain profession categories, with the result sent by SMS or email. The UAE Government portal, updated in October 2025, says that Abu Dhabi screens for tuberculosis by chest X-ray and that Dubai does not. Both are official sources and they disagree. Dubai Health operates the centres and its page carries the later stamp, March 2026, so that is the one this page follows. Neither source is a substitute for the counter: if it matters to you which tests you will be given, ask when you book, because the centre is the only place that can say what today’s protocol is.
The documents are the same at every centre: a completed registration form, your original and valid Emirates ID or passport, a recent passport sized photo on a white background, and a copy of the e-Visa. The application itself is submitted through the Salem Portal before you go.
Where this page stops
Three things this page deliberately does not do.
It does not print hours for four centres, because Dubai Health publishes none for them: Al Yalayis Jebel Ali, Al Yalayis DIP, Abu Hail and the Salem Al Muhaisnah branch. For the other 21 the published times are in the tables above, and they change for public holidays, so the centre’s own page is the one that binds. One published range is visibly wrong at the source and is reproduced rather than quietly fixed: Smart Salem Index shows a Friday afternoon slot of 14:00 to 08:30.
It does not print a phone number per centre, because there is only one to print. All 25 facility pages carry the same Dubai Health number, 800 60, and none publishes a direct line. The Amer centre list we publish elsewhere carries 87 different numbers, which is why the two pages look different.
It does not rank the centres. Dubai Health authorises all 25 and we have not visited any of them.
Frequently asked questions
How many medical fitness centres are there in Dubai?
Dubai Health publishes 25, and its own wording is “our network of 25 Medical Fitness Centers across Dubai”. The list changes as centres open and close, so the Dubai Health page is the only place it is authoritative.
What is the difference between Salem and Smart Salem?
Both are Dubai Health. Salem is the ordinary medical fitness centre brand. Smart Salem is the expedited service, and Dubai Health is the source for the claim that those centres return results in 30 minutes rather than the 6 to 24 hours quoted for the Premium exam.
Which centre is the Sonapur one?
There is no centre called Sonapur on the Dubai Health list. The two nearest to that search are the pair in Al Muhaisnah. If someone has told you to go to Sonapur, ask them which branch they mean and check it against the official list.
How long do medical fitness results take?
Dubai Health publishes two numbers: 6 to 24 hours for the Premium Medical Fitness Exam, and 30 minutes at Smart Salem centres. It does not publish a figure for the ordinary service, so this page does not quote one.
What does the medical fitness test cost?
Dubai Health did not publish a fee on the pages we read on 8 August 2026, so no figure is printed here. The test is part of the residency process and is normally paid as part of it. Ask the centre or whoever is handling your file for the amount before you go.
Can I just walk into any centre?
Several of the 25 sit inside a free zone, an airline building or the airport, and serve the people who work there rather than the public. The area sections above are the ones that are ordinary walk-in locations; check the centre’s own Dubai Health page before travelling.
If the residency file behind the medical is the part that keeps stalling, a firm can run the whole sequence for you. Compare visa and residency firms or say which stage you are stuck at.
