The split that actually matters

“Accounting firm” covers two different purchases in the UAE. One is the monthly work (bookkeeping, VAT returns, payroll, management accounts) which any competent firm can do. The other is the statutory audit, which in the UAE has to be signed by an auditor licensed by the Ministry of Economy and entered in its auditors register. Those are different licences, and a firm that does your books cannot audit them.

The selection rule is mechanical: every company in the Emirae directory that is live, publicly listed and covers Dubai, and that carries the service area named above. The order is coverage order: first by how many specialisms inside this discipline are recorded against the company, then by years in market, then alphabetically. Nothing on this page is a judgement about quality, price or outcome.

Two limits worth stating plainly. First, we publish no star ratings or scores for these companies, so no position on this page means “better”. Second, all but a handful of these profiles are unclaimed: the company has not itself confirmed the entry, so the service areas come from our own desk research into what each firm publishes. What to ask before you pick one

The useful questions are boring ones. Who signs the financial statements, and are they on the Ministry of Economy register if an audit is involved. Whether corporate tax filing is inside the fee or billed separately. Which accounting software the fee assumes, and who owns the file if you leave. Whether the monthly price covers VAT returns or only bookkeeping. What the company’s record-keeping obligations actually are is worth reading first, because it tells you what you are buying.
