MOHRE Enquiry Services: Which Entry Point Holds Your Record

Quick answer

The ministry runs a dedicated enquiry portal at inquiry.mohre.gov.ae, whose service selector offers more than thirty separate lookups arranged in six groups and opens in Arabic with an English switch. Its main services directory lists a Transactions Inquiry Service and a Government Inquiry Service as two further entries, job offers are answered on a third address at receipts.mohre.gov.ae, and employer transactions run through the Tasheel login at eservices.mohre.gov.ae. The ministry also answers on WhatsApp at 600590000 and through the MoHRE app. If you work in a free zone, expect none of them to find you: u.ae states that free zone employees are generally outside the UAE Labour Law and are sponsored by their free zone authority rather than their employer.

A MOHRE enquiry is not one screen. The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation answers lookups across five separate entry points, and which one holds your record depends on what you are asking about. Half the frustration people report is not a broken system: it is an enquiry opened on the wrong one of the five, or opened against a ministry that never held the file in the first place.

The five entry points, and what sits on each

These are the ministry’s own systems, named as the ministry names them. They are listed here so you can tell at a glance which one your question belongs to.

Entry point Address What sits there
Enquiry portal inquiry.mohre.gov.ae The largest of the five: a single selector offering more than thirty individual enquiries, arranged in six groups. The portal opens in Arabic and carries an English switch
Transactions Inquiry Service mohre.gov.ae, services directory Listed in the directory as its own service entry, separate from the portal above
Government Inquiry Service mohre.gov.ae, services directory A second directory entry, distinct again from the Transactions Inquiry Service
Offer Inquiry receipts.mohre.gov.ae Job offers, on the receipts subdomain rather than either of the two above
Tasheel e-services eservices.mohre.gov.ae The logged-in area for employer and typing-centre transactions

The practical consequence of that table is the point of this page. There is no single front door, and the names do not tell you what is behind them: a job offer is not answered by either service with the word Inquiry in its title, but on the receipts subdomain. Employer transactions run behind a login, while the enquiry portal presents its selector without one. Someone who tries one address, gets nothing, and concludes the record does not exist has usually only established that the record is not on that address.

Why an enquiry comes back with nothing

Three reasons account for most empty results, and only one of them means anything is wrong.

You are in a free zone. This is the largest single cause and it is not a fault. According to u.ae, the UAE government’s official platform, people working in free zones are generally not governed by the UAE Labour Law. Each free zone authority operates its own employment rules, and free zone employees are sponsored by that authority rather than by their employer. Your contract, permit and card are held by the free zone, so a ministry enquiry has nothing to return. The record is not missing; it was never there.

You are on the wrong one of the five. Given the split above, this is easy to do and produces exactly the same blank result as a genuinely absent record.

The portal asks you to prove you are human. The enquiry portal carries a CAPTCHA, so an enquiry cannot be scripted or bulk-run, and a page that appears to hang may simply be waiting on that step. If you are checking several workers, expect to do it one at a time.

Is your question even a ministry question?

Before choosing an entry point, it is worth checking that the subject belongs to the ministry at all. u.ae groups private sector employment into a fixed set of subjects, and they map closely onto what the ministry holds: the job offer and the hiring process, the employment contract and its permitted models, professional job levels, working hours and overtime, work injury compensation, disciplinary rules, termination and arbitrary dismissal, end of service benefits, and the one year ban on issuing a new work permit.

If your question sits in that list, an enquiry is the right instrument. If it concerns your residence status, your entry permit or your Emirates ID, it does not, and no amount of trying different ministry addresses will produce a record.

Where the ministry’s remit ends

A large share of enquiries aimed at the ministry belong to a different authority entirely. Work permits and the employment relationship are the ministry’s; residence visas and entry permits are not. Those are handled by the ICP or, for permits issued in Dubai, by the GDRFA, a split we set out in ICP and GDRFA compared. Our page on checking a UAE labour contract and job offer carries a table of which authority answers which question, with the official route for each.

The free zone boundary described above works the same way: if the free zone authority is your sponsor, it is also the body that answers about your status, and the ministry is not a fallback for it.

The two enquiries we cover in full

Two of the lookups in that portal are the ones people actually run, and each has its own page here rather than a paragraph on this one.

Checking a job offer or an employment contract. If you are verifying that an offer is genuine before you sign or fly, that is a check with its own prerequisites and its own limits, including what a ministry record can and cannot prove about an employer. See how to check a UAE labour contract and job offer online.

The labour card and the electronic work permit. Status, download, validity and the renewal window belong together and are covered in our guide to the UAE labour card, including how the free zone case differs.

Why this page does not print the screen steps

Most pages on this subject walk you through numbered clicks. This one does not, and the reason is worth stating plainly, because it affects how much you should trust the ones that do.

On 12 August 2026 the ministry’s website did not respond to us on either of two networks outside the UAE. We could therefore not read the current screens, and we do not publish field names, button labels or step counts that we have not seen in a source. Every address, service name and group count above comes from the ministry’s own pages or from u.ae, and each is listed with its source and date at the foot of this page.

The same limit applies to anyone writing from outside the country. Step lists on this topic are frequently copied between sites and age badly: a screen that moved, a field that was renamed or a service that shifted subdomain leaves the instructions intact and wrong. Open the address that matches your question from the table above, and follow whatever the ministry is showing today.

When it is worth handing this over

For a single lookup about your own status, the ministry’s own portal is the direct route and worth trying first. Employers are a different case: quota, permits and transactions run through the logged-in Tasheel side, they recur, and a mistake carries a cost. That is the work our PRO services partners take on.

Frequently asked questions

What is a MOHRE enquiry?

It is a lookup against a record the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation holds. There is no single enquiry screen. The ministry answers across five entry points: its enquiry portal at inquiry.mohre.gov.ae, two separate entries in its services directory, job offers on receipts.mohre.gov.ae, and the Tasheel login at eservices.mohre.gov.ae.

Why does a MOHRE enquiry return no record?

The commonest reason is a free zone job. u.ae states that free zone employees are generally not governed by the UAE Labour Law and are sponsored by their free zone authority rather than by their employer, so the ministry holds no file to return. The second reason is opening the wrong one of the five entry points, which produces an identical blank result.

How many enquiries does the MOHRE portal offer?

The service selector on inquiry.mohre.gov.ae offers more than thirty individual enquiries arranged in six groups. The portal opens in Arabic and carries an English switch.

Does MOHRE handle residence visas?

No. Work permits and the employment relationship sit with the ministry. Residence visas and entry permits are handled by the ICP, or by the GDRFA for permits issued in Dubai.

How else can I reach MOHRE?

u.ae lists the MoHRE app and the WhatsApp number 600590000 as routes to the ministry services.

Can I run a MOHRE enquiry from outside the UAE?

We cannot confirm that you can. On 12 August 2026 the ministry website did not respond on either of two networks outside the UAE, which is why this page maps the entry points instead of printing screen steps.
