How long does it take to get an Emirates ID

Ask a consultantICP’s own service card gives a completion time of five days for a new Emirates ID. There is also an urgent service, available only at the authority’s service centres, which issues the card within 24 hours for an extra AED 150. Both clocks start after your application is in and your biometrics have been taken.

The step that most often stretches the wait is not the printing. Biometrics have to be given in person at an ICP centre, so the real timeline usually depends on when you can get an appointment.
What this does not mean
Five days is the authority’s service standard, not a promise about your case. It counts from a complete application, so a missing document or a delayed biometrics appointment adds to it and is not counted against the standard. The urgent service also cannot be bought online, since it exists only at ICP service centres.
