About this bank

About Zand Bank

Zand Bank PJSC is a Dubai-based commercial bank licensed and regulated by the Central Bank of the UAE. It received its banking licence on 30 June 2022 and describes itself as the first fully licensed all-digital bank in the UAE.

Zand addresses corporate, institutional, fintech and wealth clients. Its business products include transaction banking (demand deposit accounts and virtual integrated accounts), digital asset custody, the AEDZ stablecoin, ZandPay POS and commercial and real estate escrow.

Zand publishes a single corporate fee schedule: account opening is free, the minimum monthly average balance is AED 250,000 and a fee of AED 500 plus VAT applies if the balance falls below it. No SME or startup plan with a lower balance is published on zand.ae. Zand and Yuze have announced a partnership to provide digital business accounts to eligible SMEs and startups, but fees and eligibility for that route are not published on zand.ae.

There is no public online account-opening page: interested companies submit an enquiry form or call the contact centre, and Zand does not publish the number of days needed to open an account.

How this bank fits a business

What the Zand business account costs

  • Current account: AED 250,000 minimum monthly average balance; AED 500 + VAT if it falls below, and no interest is paid under AED 250,000. Opening and closing the account are free; the schedule lists no monthly fee line.
  • Transfers: inward local transfers free; outward local AED 5 plus Central Bank charges; inward foreign currency AED 10; outward foreign currency AED 55 plus correspondent charges. Payroll files cost AED 2 per record. All fees are before 5% VAT.
  • Zand publishes one corporate fee schedule and no separate plans for SMEs or startups. A January 2026 announcement with the platform Yuze mentions digital business accounts for eligible SMEs and startups, with no published terms on zand.ae.

Who Zand is for

Zand describes its clients as corporate, institutional, fintech and wealth clients. Its terms make current accounts available to businesses resident or registered in the UAE or abroad; a sole proprietorship is operated by a single user, while other companies need at least two users, one entering and one authorising. Rules on free zone or offshore licences, non-resident owners and declined activities are not published.

About the bank and how to apply

Zand Bank PJSC received its Central Bank licence on 30 June 2022 and is listed in the Central Bank register under number 01.01.01.064.2022.02. It grew out of the acquisition of Dubai Bank in 2021, has an AED 2.35 billion paid-up capital since December 2025 and a Fitch BBB+ rating with a stable outlook. There is no public account opening page: you send an enquiry through its transaction banking form or call +971 600 502 328, and Zand publishes no document list or opening time.

Since 13 September 2026 a Central Bank of the UAE regulation for SME customers requires banks to complete account opening within three business days for applicants assessed as low risk, counted from the full set of documents, and caps other delays at two weeks; banks may not charge a closing fee once an account has been open for six months.

Suitability

Who this bank may suit

A quick read on where this bank is usually a stronger fit - and where another bank may serve you better. This is editorial guidance, not eligibility.

Good fit for

Companies that can keep a monthly average balance of AED 250,000 and want a digital bank for corporate transaction banking, virtual integrated accounts, payments in 15 currencies, escrow or digital asset custody. Zand addresses corporate, institutional, fintech and wealth clients. SMEs and startups may be able to reach Zand accounts through its partnership with Yuze, but fees and eligibility for that route are not published on zand.ae.

May not suit

Startups and small businesses that cannot keep a monthly average balance of AED 250,000: Zand charges AED 500 plus VAT a month below that level and publishes no lower-balance SME plan on zand.ae. Freelancers, because Zand publishes no freelancer offer. Companies that need a published document checklist or a stated account-opening time, since Zand publishes neither. Companies that need frequent in-person banking or have significant cash-handling requirements may also find the digital model limiting.

Preparation

What to prepare before approaching this bank

A practical checklist. Complete documents do not guarantee approval - the bank makes the decision.

Missing something from this list? A consultant can prepare the file with you - use the request button.

Preparation quality matters

Zand does not publish an account-opening document checklist. Its terms say no account will be opened until all documents required by the bank are received and found satisfactory, and its fee schedule charges AED 250 a month if an expired trade licence is not provided for more than 60 days. Companies other than sole proprietorships need at least two users: a maker who inputs and an authoriser who authorises the account opening. Ask Zand for the current list before applying.

Zand Bank PJSC is licensed and regulated by the Central Bank of the UAE and applies standard KYC and AML checks. Its terms state that no account will be opened until the required documents are received and, in the bank's opinion, satisfactory. Businesses in higher-risk sectors or with layered ownership should expect additional questions.
