Ajman Free Zone Visa Cost: Every Step and How to Check Status

Quick answer

An Ajman Free Zone residence visa is a chain of steps: a work entry permit from AED 1,000, a status change from AED 800 if the person is already in the UAE, and the residence visa itself from AED 2,400, with the Emirates ID issued alongside it. Before the first visa the company needs an establishment card (AED 750) and an E-Channel registration (AED 2,300). Medical screening and health insurance are extra, and AFZ does not publish a single all-in price.

Ajman Free Zone (AFZ), run by the Free Zones Authority of Ajman, publishes a starting price for each step of a residence visa in its online service catalogue at afz.gov.ae. This page puts those steps together, explains what a company pays before its first visa and how to check a visa’s status. The figures were read on 4 October 2026. AFZ states that each card shows a fixed fee or a starting amount and that the amount on the application summary or invoice prevails.

Visa steps and starting prices

Step Starting price (AED) AFZ service time
Immigration security approval, for a shareholder, manager or employee 600 16 hours
Work entry permit, new 1,000 8 hours
Change of status, if the applicant is inside the UAE 800 8 hours
Residence visa, new (output: electronic visa and Emirates ID) 2,400 8 hours
Health insurance through AFZ from 233 instant

AFZ’s own FAQ gives the order: apply for the entry permit, then the status change, then the residence visa. A status change is not needed when the applicant completes entry from outside the UAE. AFZ adds that medical screening, Emirates ID and health insurance requirements may apply before completion, and that overstay fines, guarantees, insurance or urgent service charges may be added by case. Employees may also need worker insurance.

What the company pays before the first visa

Company immigration item New (AED) Renewal (AED) Cancellation (AED)
Establishment card 750 750 335
E-Channel registration 2,300 1,200 400
Swipe to see the full table

The E-Channel is the government immigration portal account. AFZ notes that it is not available on ineligible zero-visa packages. An older, undated AFZ FAQ quotes AED 1,100 for the E-Channel renewal; the current service card says AED 1,200.

A first visa, added up

For a company’s first visa holder who is already in the UAE, the published starting prices add up to AED 8,600: establishment card 750, E-Channel 2,300, security approval 600, entry permit 1,000, status change 800 and residence visa 2,400 (our arithmetic). Health insurance from AED 233 and the medical test come on top, and the invoice amount prevails. Each further visa repeats only the personal steps, from AED 4,800 inside the UAE.

Renewal, cancellation and transfers

  • Residence visa renewal: from AED 2,400.
  • Residence visa cancellation: from AED 750; a work entry permit cancellation is also AED 750.
  • Residence visa amendment: from AED 1,500.
  • Transfer between two AFZ companies: AED 1,050 for the transfer approval plus AED 2,400 for the new visa.

How many visas a company can get

AFZ says every business package carries a different number of visas, but it publishes the number per package only through its cost calculator, which sends an estimate after you leave contact details. Extra quota costs from AED 350 and needs an inspection; it is not available for virtual facilities or ineligible packages. A visa can start only when quota is free and the company’s ICP licence activation has at least 10 days left.

How to check an Ajman Free Zone visa status

Ajman visas are issued through the federal Identity and Citizenship authority (ICP). The UAE government portal u.ae (updated 15 July 2026) points holders of an Ajman entry permit or residence visa to the ICP smart services website to check its validity, and to the ICP toll-free number 600522222 to follow up an application. If you need an official document, AFZ issues an immigration status report from AED 350 for one employee or AED 550 for all employees.

What AFZ does not publish

  • One all-in price for a visa, or the medical test and Emirates ID fees as separate amounts.
  • The visa or security deposit for an employee or investor.
  • The number of visas per package.
  • Whether the prices include VAT, and a date or version for the price list.

For the licence itself and the rest of AFZ’s fees, see Ajman Free Zone licence cost; for the documents, see Ajman Free Zone licence requirements.
