Why this page does not rank by size

A “biggest firms” table needs a measurable quantity: partners, lawyers, offices, revenue, matters. We hold none of those for these firms, and neither do most of the pages that publish such rankings: they are usually reprinted from a directory that charges for entry, or assembled from firm marketing. Rather than copy a number we cannot stand behind, we publish what we do hold: which firms cover Dubai, what work is recorded against each, how long each says it has been in the market, and which languages it works in.

One more limit worth naming: our directory does not record whether a firm holds a UAE advocacy licence or whether its people are registered advocates. This is a directory listing, not a ranking and not an editorial award. The selection rule is mechanical: every company in the Emirae directory that is live, publicly listed and covers Dubai, and that carries the service area named above. The order is coverage order: first by how many specialisms inside this discipline are recorded against the company, then by years in market, then alphabetically. Nothing on this page is a judgement about quality, price or outcome.

Two limits worth stating plainly. First, we publish no star ratings or scores for these companies, so no position on this page means “better”. Second, all but a handful of these profiles are unclaimed: the company has not itself confirmed the entry, so the service areas come from our own desk research into what each firm publishes. Matching the firm to the matter

Three distinctions save the most money. Contentious versus non-contentious: a firm that drafts good contracts is not automatically the firm you want in the DIFC Courts. Onshore versus DIFC and ADGM: these are separate common-law jurisdictions with their own courts, and experience in one does not transfer. Advice versus filing: a lot of what is sold as legal work ( UBO registers, AML policies, liquidation paperwork) is process work that a corporate services firm does more cheaply than a law firm. Decide which of the three you are buying before you ask for a quote, and for genuinely contentious matters start with dispute resolution.
