Legal Translation Services in Dubai

Most UAE government processes, banking applications, court filings, and official submissions require documents in Arabic. If your documents are in another language, certified or legal translation is a mandatory step.

Structured requests. Verified consultants. Competitive offers.

Legal translation in the UAE means translating documents into Arabic (or from Arabic) by a certified translator whose work is accepted by government authorities, courts, banks, and regulators.

Types of Translation

Certified translation. A translation performed by a translator certified by the UAE Ministry of Justice. The translator stamps the document with their official seal. This is the standard requirement for most government submissions.

Legal translation. Often used interchangeably with certified translation in the UAE context. Refers to translation of legal documents by a qualified translator.

Sworn translation. In some jurisdictions, a sworn translator has taken an oath before a court. In the UAE, the Ministry of Justice certification serves a similar function.

Notarised translation. A translation that has been additionally attested by a notary or court. May be required for specific legal proceedings.

How Translation Works

Step 1: Submit your documents with context. Provide the original documents and information about their intended use.

Step 2: Translation by a certified translator. A certified translator produces the Arabic version, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Step 3: Certification and stamping. The translator certifies the translation with their official stamp.

Step 4: Delivery. The certified translated document is delivered and ready for submission.

Key Considerations

Certified vs legal vs sworn - know what you need. For most UAE processes, certified translation by a Ministry of Justice-approved translator is the standard. Confirm the exact requirement with the receiving authority if unsure.

MOFA-approved translators. For documents that will be used in MOFA attestation processes, translation by a MOFA-approved translator may be preferred or required.

Quality vs speed trade-off. Rush translations are available but may carry higher risk of errors for complex documents.

Translation alone may not be sufficient. Many UAE processes require both translation AND attestation. They are separate processes that often need to happen in sequence.

Frequently Asked Questions About Legal Translation

What is the difference between certified and legal translation

In the UAE context, the terms are often used interchangeably. Certified translation means the translator is certified by the Ministry of Justice and stamps the translated document with their official seal.

Which type of translation do I need

For most UAE government processes, certified translation by a Ministry of Justice-approved translator is sufficient. For court proceedings, notarised translation may be required.

How much does legal translation cost

Pricing is typically per-page and varies by language pair, document complexity, and urgency.

How long does translation take

Standard turnaround depends on the number of pages and the provider's workload. Rush services are available at a premium.

Do I need translation AND attestation

Often yes - they are separate processes. Translation converts the language; attestation verifies the document's authenticity. Many UAE processes require both.

Is Arabic translation mandatory for all UAE submissions

Arabic is the official language of the UAE. Most government authorities require documents in Arabic. Some institutions accept English for certain processes.
