How this bank fits a business

Which Ajman Bank package fits

  • Basic: AED 25,000 monthly average balance, AED 350 + VAT a month if it falls below; online AED transfers AED 5, other currencies AED 30; 5 free teller transactions a month.
  • Premium: AED 100,000, AED 500 + VAT if below; online AED transfers AED 3, other currencies AED 25; a dedicated relationship manager.
  • Platinum: AED 250,000, AED 650 + VAT if below; online transfers free in any currency; a dedicated relationship manager.
  • There is no separate monthly fee and opening is free. The first cheque book and the debit card are free; closing an account within 6 months costs AED 100. All amounts are before 5% VAT.

Ajman Bank publishes no business account without a minimum balance and no startup package; AB ONE CORP is its online banking platform for SME and corporate clients, not a separate account. Its wholesale banking schedule for larger companies has different tiers (AED 250,000 or AED 1 million). The debit card is offered to sole proprietorships in AED only.

Who can open it

The account opening form covers sole proprietorships, LLCs, professional licences, partnerships, branches of foreign companies and free zone establishments and companies; offshore companies are not listed. The current account is for UAE residents only, and the bank says an account may not be opened with a negative Al Etihad Credit Bureau rating. Rules for freelancers, company age and turnover are not published.

How opening works

The bank's terms say the signed account opening form is submitted at a branch, and the online "Apply" button is a contact form. Ajman Bank publishes no document checklist or opening time; you can cancel within a five business day cooling-off period.

Since 13 September 2026 a Central Bank of the UAE regulation for SME customers requires banks to complete account opening within three business days for applicants assessed as low risk, counted from the full set of documents, and caps other delays at two weeks; banks may not charge a closing fee once an account has been open for six months.

Suitability

Who this bank may suit

A quick read on where this bank is usually a stronger fit - and where another bank may serve you better. This is editorial guidance, not eligibility.

Good fit for

Ajman Bank is usually a stronger fit for small businesses, trading companies, freelancers with a more developed operating setup and owner managed firms that want Islamic banking in the UAE. It can also suit companies that want a practical local bank with business online access and a more accessible commercial feel than some larger institutional players.

May not suit

Ajman Bank may be less suitable for very complex treasury style cases, highly layered ownership structures or applicants that need a very large bank profile from day one. It may also be less ideal where the business case is weakly documented or where the company expects Islamic banking preference to reduce compliance expectations.

Strengths & friction

  • Cross border or more complex ownership cases may still face friction
  • Applicants should not assume a smaller bank means easier approval

Preparation

What to prepare before approaching this bank

A practical checklist. Complete documents do not guarantee approval - the bank makes the decision.

Preparation quality matters

For Ajman Bank, the business story should stay consistent across the trade licence, website, activity description and expected payments. Even when the case looks smaller or simpler, applicants should prepare a clear explanation of how the business operates and what the account will be used for.

Applicants should still expect normal UAE compliance scrutiny. Sharia compliant banking preference does not remove the need for beneficial ownership clarity, source of funds logic and a coherent commercial rationale. Cases with cross border flows or weak documentation should be prepared more carefully before approaching the bank.
Timeline expectations
