How to register Ejari in Dubai

Ask a consultantThere are two ways to register a Dubai tenancy with Ejari. Doing it yourself in the Dubai REST app or the Ejari system on the Land Department website costs AED 177.75. A Real Estate Services Trustee Centre costs AED 220. Either way you receive the same registration certificate, by email or at the counter.

- Check which route is open to you using the last row of the table.
- Gather the contract in the form that route needs, a copy for the app or the original for the counter.
- Submit the registration and pay by card, cash at a centre, or from a Noqodi wallet.
- Keep the registration certificate. DEWA and most other paperwork will ask for it.
What this does not mean
Registering is not the tenant’s legal duty. Under the emirate’s rules it is the landlord who must register the lease with Dubai Land Department; tenants often do it anyway because the utility connection waits on it. And in a professionally managed building neither of you files it: the management company registers through its own access, and a tenant who queues at a trustee centre will be turned away.
