Corporate account has been frozen under AML review for the last eleven days. Bank compliance has asked for documentation which we have provided, and the response we keep getting is that the file is still under review. We do not know precisely what triggered the freeze, and the bank's relationship manager has effectively stepped back from the conversation now that compliance owns it.
Every day the freeze continues we lose operational ground: two supplier invoices have missed their due date, payroll is in eight days, and the client that sent the most recent inbound wire has started asking why they have not received confirmation that the invoice is closed on our side.
Need a specialist who understands bank compliance language at the AML level specifically, can communicate with compliance in the way they expect rather than the way a founder would instinctively write, assess whether the file is likely to unfreeze with additional documentation or whether the relationship is heading to a bank-initiated exit, and if the latter, sequence a clean migration to a second bank that will not inherit the AML flag as the headline of the new application. Speed matters, but so does not making the situation worse with an escalation that damages the record.
