Emirates ID stuck six weeks after visa stamping. Medical was done correctly, stamping went through cleanly, and the EID card should have been issued within the usual window. It has not. The ICP portal shows the status as 'under process' with no additional detail, and the standard ICP support channels have looped us through the same template reply three times.
This is no longer just an EID problem. The corporate bank that issued a conditional approval four weeks ago has said they will not complete the final onboarding step without the EID number attached to the file. The personal account for the founder is similarly blocked. The lease we want to move into requires EID for Ejari. Our pending VAT registration application at FTA has stalled because the portal requires the EID to bind the founder's signature to the entity. In other words, a routine delay at ICP is now holding up four unrelated processes, each with its own deadline.
What we need is a PRO firm that has unblocked stalled EID files before and knows what is actually wrong when the portal shows nothing. From what we have been told by other founders, the causes range from biometrics needing recapture (sometimes the fingerprint quality scored low and the system silently queued a re-capture request that never reached us), to document mismatches between the stamping file and the EID application (name transliteration, passport number formatting), to ICP internal backlog in the specific issuance batch. We do not know which of these applies to us, and the portal does not tell us.
We need someone who can get a real answer from ICP. That means not a customer-service loop, but a direct liaison with the issuance team, an in-person follow-up at the right ICP centre if that is what moves it, and if the blocker turns out to be a biometrics re-capture, scheduling that immediately rather than waiting for a system notification that may never arrive.
Secondary but important: while the EID side is being pushed, we need the PRO firm to communicate with the bank's onboarding team so they hold the approval open rather than lapsing it. We have already had one extension from them, a second may not come automatically.
If you have unblocked similar ICP backlogs in the last three to six months, please be direct about what worked and what the realistic timeline looks like. We cannot afford another week of 'still checking'.
