Free zone company, operating three years, almost entirely foreign B2B revenue. Want to confirm whether we meet Qualifying Free Zone Person status and therefore retain the 0 percent rate on qualifying income. We cannot afford to assume the answer is yes and discover the opposite at filing time.
The conditions are specific and our operation has grown in ways that may not all fit the original QFZP intent. Substance is in the free zone. Activity on the license matches our actual work. But we have a small percentage of revenue from UAE mainland clients that needs to be treated separately, a few mixed-use costs that need proper attribution, and we recently added a subsidiary in another free zone whose income flows back to us as service fees.
What we need is not a yes or a no. We need a specialist to run the QFZP test across our current structure, document each condition and how we meet or fail it, identify any positions where we are close to the line, and produce a written memo we can defend in a review. If we do not meet one of the conditions today, we want the specialist to say so and help us adjust the structure rather than paper over the gap.
Equally important, we need someone who will treat this as a live assessment that needs to be revisited at each filing, not a one-off. QFZP is not a badge that is awarded once, it is a position that must be maintained and documented every year.
Budget is not the constraint. Wrong answer wearing the confidence of a right answer is the constraint. If you have run QFZP assessments for five or more companies of our size recently, please share how you approached it. If this would be one of your first, we are not the right client for that.
