How much is the overstay fine in the UAE

Ask a consultantAED 50 for each day. The federal authority’s own service card sets the charge for staying past the permitted period, or past the cancellation or expiry of an entry visa, residence permit or exit permit, at 50 dirhams per day. The UAE embassy in Washington quotes the same figure for visitors who exceed their allowance.
Expiry of the permitted stay period for the foreigner in the State, or the cancellation or expiration of the (entry visa / residence permit / exit permit / newborn registration), per day.
The fee line priced at 50 AED on ICP’s service card, Payment of visa or residence violation fine
Using ICP’s smart services adds a further AED 100 to the transaction, so the amount you pay is a little above the daily count. The charge keeps accruing until the situation is fixed, because the authority requires the person either to adjust their status or to leave after paying.
What this does not mean
Do not calculate your own total and assume it is right. Not every published figure agrees: the Abu Dhabi Residents Office describes AED 100 per day counted from ten days after the visa expires, which is a different rule from the federal one quoted above. We have used the ICP figure because it is federal, sits in a live service card and is matched by a second official source, but the amount you owe is whatever the fines inquiry shows for your file.
